Reminder: Monday, October 9, is a student and teacher holiday. This includes all schools except Collegiate Academy. The District office will remain open, and we will welcome everyone back to school on Tuesday, October 10. Enjoy the three-day weekend.


Come join us for the 1st Annual O.C. Taylor Movie Spooktacular hosted by our Dad's Club on October 26th! All students are welcome to come and enjoy fun Fall activities and watch a Halloween movie! Please dress up in your costumes and bring your lawn chairs to watch the movie! Lisa's Chicken and Seafood will be there for $20 per family (please pre order using the link below) and we will also have snacks and drinks for sale! We hope to see you all there!!

October 2 is World Bullying Prevention Day. Join GCISD in wearing blue shirts and boots to kick off the 17th Annual World Day of Bullying Prevention. #WeAreGCISD

Thursday, September 14th, O.C. Taylor held their Annual Rock Out. It was a huge success and fun was had by one and all!






The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has announced a temporary delay in the release of 2023 A-F accountability ratings for all districts and campuses across the State of Texas. The ratings were originally scheduled for release on September 28 and will now be delayed by approximately one month, according to the TEA’s press release.

Raptor visitor management system is experiencing a system-wide service interruption. The vendor is working to get the issue resolved as soon as possible. If visiting campuses, please bring your ID as we are manually checking in visitors. Thank you for your patience as the vendor works to resolve this issue.

Please join us for our first Parent Tech Academy of the school year at the Professional Development & Education Center (PDEC) on September 20th at 6:30 p.m. The technology department will discuss apps that parents use, such as Canvas, Skyward, Lightspeed and Seesaw. Parents will have the opportunity to learn about each app and how they can stay better informed about their child. #WeAreGCISD

Up to 8 days per year (4 per semester) may be excused by a parent note for missed attendance beyond medical, approved excused, and statutorily exemptions. Vacations taken during the school year will be coded as unexcused absences.

Effective 9/1/2023, Texas House Bill 114 requires a student to be placed in the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) if the student possesses, uses, or is under the influence of, or sells, gives, or delivers marijuana, THC, or an e-cigarette to another person within 300 feet of school property or at a school-related event.

REMINDER: In an effort to safely and efficiently prepare for Meet the Teacher on Friday, August 11, 2023, please complete this Google form by Wednesday, August 9th at midnight. Be sure and bring your driver's license with you to check in at the check-in tables in the gym if you filled out the form. You will also receive a ID badge upon checking in with your driver's license for added security. If visitors do not fill this out, they will have to wait in line and check in with their driver's license at the Raptor System kiosk in the front lobby of the school and receive their badge from there. Please send this form to any family members to fill out so you can check in quickly!
