Learning Commons Policies

Circulation Policies

  • Students may check out print

    books, audio books, and

    ebooks.

  • Materials are checked out for

    a two-week period.

  • Items may be renewed once

if a student needs more time to

read or listen to the item.

This gives your child a full month to complete a book.

  • Books on the current Bluebonnet list and books in exceptionally high

demand (i.e. the new Guinness World Record books and "new" titles)

are the exception to this policy.

Number of Items Allowed

  • Kindergarten: 1 item

  • First Grade: 2 items

  • Second – Fifth Grades: 3 items

Overdue Book Policies

  • There are no late fees in the elementary schools.

  • If a student has an item that is more than two weeks overdue, he or she

may not check out additional print items until the item is returned. E-

books and audiobooks will continue to be available so student always

    have access to reading material.

Lost or Damaged Book Policies

  • Any student checking out materials from the school library is

responsible for the care of these items. Fines will be assessed for

damage, and students are required to pay for lost materials in the

amount necessary to purchase an exact replacement or one that is

comparable if the item is no longer available.

  • Refunds for lost materials will be made if the item is in good condition

and is returned within the school year in which it was lost.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact the librarian.
