I believe every child can succeed at high levels in all areas: academic/mind, body/physical health, and emotional/social health. Teachers must engage students in new and unique ways. Today’s learners prefer to learn digitally, with others, online, in their own time, and in their own way. While we need to certainly stay focused on the core content, we must also embed the teaching of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and compassion. These skills are essential to being successful in today’s highly global economy. This is the world in which our students live. Reaching them where they are and engaging them is essential to their current and future successes.

Personally
I am the mom of two grown boys. In our spare time, we like to run, visit our family ranch, ride the four-wheeler, and sip coffee on the porch. I consider it an honor to serve on the Texas Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development Board of Directors and enjoy all that I learn from the leaders. Learning is a passion of mine! I graduated with a B.S. in Education from Baylor University, a M.S. in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas, and am pursuing a doctorate degree at Dallas Baptist University.
