I am so excited for another great year as your Gifted/Talented Teacher! This is my 22nd year in education and my 14th year as a GT LEAD teacher. As both a parent and educator, I have a vested interest in our community and school district, as my children are products of GCISD and CHHS graduates.
I began my teaching career in Irving ISD (1992), and in 1993, I came to Colleyville Middle School as an English teacher. While there I completed my Gifted and Talented Endorsement through Hardin-Simmons University, and by doing so, I taught Gifted/Talented Language Arts for several years. I took some time off to be a stay-at-home mom and then returned to teaching GT at the elementary level and absolutely love it! As a specialist, I have taught at Grapevine Elementary, Colleyville Elementary, and O. C. Taylor Elementary.
I am a graduate of University of Texas at Arlington, where I earned my Bachelor's degree (English) in 1989 and my Master's degree (Teaching/English) in 1991. I have been married for 32 years to John Mark, and we are blessed with two wonderful children, Isaac (Senior at OU) and Olivia (Freshman at OU). As a family, we love traveling, snow skiing, and going to OU games.
It is such a privilege to teach your children and to be a part of this wonderful community. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 817-305-4870 @ extension 2811 or at kathy.griffin@gcisd.net.  Twitter feed is below.
